    Katharina Zunk

    Senior Vice President of Operations

    Katharina was raised in the Northeastern region of Pennsylvania and subsequently in New England. She later relocated to South Florida, where she commenced her career in behavioral health, specializing in substance use and mental health disorders.

    Afterwards, Katharina earned her Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration from KEU. She possesses over a decade of experience in the field, having held various executive operational roles throughout her career.

    Katharina has successfully led numerous talented teams within the behavioral health sector, drawing on her extensive experience in executive leadership for substance use disorder and mental health facilities. Her areas of specialization include facility startups and turnaround strategies, as well as compliance with CARF, Joint Commission and state standards.

    Shannon Moore BSW, MSW

    Executive Director

    Shannon Moore has been a dedicated member of the Pyramid Healthcare team since 2022 and currently serves as Executive Director of Freedom Detox & Recovery. Her leadership is grounded in hands-on experience, compassion, and a deep understanding of the behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment field.

    Throughout her career in behavioral health, Shannon has served in a variety of progressively responsible roles, including Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), BHT Lead, Case Manager, Program Lead, Assistant Program Director, and now Executive Director. Her experience across both direct care and operational leadership has given her a unique, well-rounded perspective on the recovery journey, the needs of the individuals and families we serve, and the importance of supporting the team members who provide care each day. 

    Shannon earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Kentucky, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2027. She is passionate about helping individuals recover from substance use disorders and firmly believes that recovery is possible for everyone when they are met with compassion, dignity, and the right support. 

    Her commitment to this work is also deeply personal. Having experienced the loss of multiple family members to alcoholism, Shannon understands firsthand the profound impact alcohol use disorder can have not only on individuals, but on entire families. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care and helping individuals find hope, healing, and a meaningful path forward. 

    As Executive Director, Shannon is especially proud of the culture at Freedom Detox & Recovery. She believes one of the program’s greatest strengths is its welcoming, home-like atmosphere, where individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion from the moment they walk through the door. She is committed to fostering an environment where clients feel safe and valued while ensuring staff feel supported, empowered, and connected to the important mission they serve. 

    For Shannon, leadership is about remaining connected to the people behind the work. From beginning her journey in direct client care to now leading Freedom Detox & Recovery, she continues to bring the same belief to her work each day: every person deserves to be welcomed with compassion, given hope, and provided the opportunity to begin a new chapter in recovery.
