Alcohol and marijuana were the drugs of my choice. I have been trying to get sober for 5 years on my own and in AA. I would get 30 days to 90 days sober but I kept relapsing. I was feeling as though it was a lost cause and wanted to drink myself to death. What used to be fun got me in trouble and made me miserable. I wanted to quit, but I could not stop. Legacy has literally saved my life. I like the approach they put on sobriety. There are therapists who get to the root of the problem, group sessions where we talk about our feelings and worries. We work out these emotions. The instructors are awesome at keeping the groups focused and connected. It was an experience I did not feel at the other treatment centers I had previously been to. The alternative therapies really helped me to find my center and to relax. I now understand how to have fun in sobriety where I use to look at it as a chore. The life purpose coaches taught me how to set goals, better understand what my dreams in life really are and how to achieve both! Today I am 9 months sober and I owe it to the experience of Legacy Freedom. I still attend continuing care and not only enjoy it but I look forward to it.
