In May, Earl Leon Johnson was arrested after detectives served him with a search warrant in Reidsville. Sheriff's Deputies found 2.33 grams of crack cocaine, 14.5 grams of opiates and more than 600 prescription pills in Johnson's position. He was arrested on a total of 22 counts.

Johnson was arrested for trafficking opium, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell and deliver scheduled controlled substances of the schedule classifications II, III and IV. Johnson was secured in the Rockingham County Jail with a $750,000 bond.

Another story out of Rockingham County has a 20-year-old in jail under $250,000 secured bond. Tyler Smith was arrested on May 16th by officers who found him with numerous types of prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash. They also found 5.71 grams of marijuana and 26.7 grams of cocaine.

Smith was also charged with a misdemeanor possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for unlawfully keeping or selling controlled substances, possession with intent to sell, felony counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance.

In June, Donovan Jeffries was served and charged with multiple misdemeanors and more. Upon his arrest, Jeffries was found with three children in the vehicle. For that, he was charged with misdemeanor child abuse. He was also charged with possession of cocaine within 1000 feet of a school, felony trafficking cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served an outstanding warrant that included trafficking of cocaine.

Jeffries was stopped for a traffic violation when the officer’s canine unit gave a positive alert for narcotics. They then found, inside of an infant's diaper bag, 95.85 grams of cocaine. He was placed in jail and held under a secured bond of $750,000.
