One Wilmington man is facing charges in New Hanover County for various offenses. The man was observed by undercover officers selling ten bindles of heroin to an informant near Dock and 12th Streets. The informant was working under the direction of the Hanover County Sherriff's Office, and shortly after the buy, the suspect was stopped by law enforcement.

During a search of his vehicle, the suspect was found to have 2.13 grams of marijuana, 6.13 grams of cocaine and 19 additional bindles of heroin. Due to his previous criminal history, the man was sentenced to a minimum of 70 months and a maximum of 120 months in the North Carolina Department of Corrections. Prior convictions for the man include robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony drug sales, and kidnapping.

In another newsmaking arrest, two men from Burgaw were arrested after a multi-jurisdictional narcotics investigation near Market North in Wilmington. The joint operation between the Pender County Sherriff's Office Vice/Narcotics Unit, FBI Coastal Carolina Criminal Enterprise Task Force, and the New Hanover County Sherriff's Office Gang Unit resulted in charges for the men ranging from felony possession of heroin to felony maintaining a vehicle for purposes of controlled substances. The men had not yet been sentenced and were being held on $10,000 secured bonds at the time of this article.
