- Pet your dog or cat everyday. If you don't have one, go to the dog park and ask someone if you can pet their animal.
- Reevaluate your standards for yourself. If you're constantly beating yourself up, find ways to make sure you don't do that anymore.
- Listen to upbeat and energizing music on the way to work. Listen to music that makes you happy and calm on the way home from work.
- Spend less on unimportant things and save more money when possible.
- Spend time with your best friend once a week. You need this time and so do they.
- Start a journal and write in it each day.
- Start a new routine. It's a great way to have something to look forward to and also give you a chance to schedule a little me time. Make it a point to go out for coffee on Tuesdays. Take a friend to lunch on Fridays. Whatever you choose, this deliberate habit will be a wonderful way to ensure your self care.
- Start eating healthy each meal of the day. You can have a cheat day or meal, but eating healthy is a great way to make sure you're taking care of yourself.
- Be sure you're spending time with positive people. Negativity can take away your energy and leave you feeling the same way.
- Take a bath or shower with aromatherapy candles lit.
- Take a long look at your to do list. What has been on there forever, just waiting for you to scratch it off? Schedule some time to do that. It will make you feel really great and relax you a little.
- Take a power nap for 10 to 20 minutes each day. It might feel like this is a lazy habit, but you can re-energize yourself and sleep better at night by doing so.
