New Year's resolutions can often be the most exciting, yet stressful parts of starting a new year. At our Greensboro NC drug rehab and alcohol treatment center, we think they're a great way to get in shape or start eating healthy, but they also add stress to our lives when we try to keep them. One great way to make sure you set goals that you can keep without stressing about them is by making sure you add a fun goal in there, as well.
Why not consider choosing one fun and exciting activity to do each month? This will be a reward for working hard, eating healthy or continuing on in your personal resolution. Below, you'll find several ideas that will help you find fun things to do in the Greensboro area during 2017! If you want to start the New Year off on the right foot and free of addiction, be sure to call Legacy Freedom for holistic outpatient help.

Greensboro Children's Museum
This is a great way to get the whole family involved in a nice weekend event. If you choose to go on any Sunday of the year, each visit will be half price! Consider scheduling this trip at least once a month. Everyone will love it!
With a "snowbox" to play in and ice skating rink, this winterfest will be a great way to wind down on a Saturday after a long week. You'll love enjoying this festival from now until the end of February!
MLK Day Dove Release
This important holiday is coming up soon. Why not celebrate in a way that will be remembered for years to come? The event not only celebrates Martin Luther King Jr, but also releases doves to commemorate his legacy.
Visions of Home: A Celebration of Gullah Art & Culture
Join this event at the Museum of Anthropology at Wake Forest University, not too far from Greensboro. This event is held January 17, 2017 through April 22, 2017 starting at 10:00 am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday of each week.
You'll be able to learn all about the life and culture of the Gullah people through artwork, artifacts, history and more.
This league engages in a full contact game that's played in an oval arena. All players wear roller skates. From the name derby, you can probably imagine what goes on during this game. It's not a good fit for everyone, as those who play it are quite tough. However, even if you don't choose to join the league, do consider watching their derby challenges. It's fun and entertaining for all ages.
The Greensboro Arm Wrestling League (GRAWL)
This nonprofit league was established not too long ago. It raises money for the Greensboro area. Consider joining or donating to the cause.
We hope these activities help you get excited about this new year and all the great things to come. To learn about more activities going on in 2017, visit with our previous blog post, as well.
