Start your day with a healthy meal.  Many of us don’t eat breakfast or are in such a hurry that we supplement a healthy breakfast with fast food and coffee.  Instead of losing sleep over cooking a giant breakfast, try:

Preparing some foods in advance, like scrambling uncooked eggs the night before or making your granola over the weekend.

Eating something quick and simple like cold oats with dried fruit and nuts or dipping an apple in peanut butter and snacking on that in the car.

Eat a big breakfast, then eat a lunch that’s a bit smaller. For dinner, think light. Our bodies are less active after dinner.   • 30 almonds
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon of nut butter and celery
  • 1 hardboiled egg
  • 1 can of tuna

Think before you eat. This is easier said than done. Most often, those that don’t live on a constant dieting schedule tend to slip up and eat junk food for snacks or fried foods for dinner without thinking. Of course, that’s occasionally OK. The problem comes when it happens every day. Overindulgence is a risk that has serious effects. Instead of eating straight out of that box of cookies, portion out a couple, put them on a plate, put the box away and go somewhere else to eat them.
